Welcome to Ripon City Football Club. Here you will be able to follow the progress of all things concerning Ripon City FC. We have been established since 1898 and we are a genuine grass roots community club.
Our first team play in the West Yorkshire Premier Division whilst our reserve team hone their skills in the West Yorkshire Alliance One Division. Our Sunday team play in Claro League Division One and, on the occasional Sunday afternoon, Ripon Veterans will grace the pitch before retiring to the clubhouse for drinks and chip butties!
We are a very friendly club run for the benefit of the community who enjoy football and all that goes with it.
However we are not without ambition and are currently seeking to relocate to much larger premises which we see us sell our present home at Mallorie Park. We hope to build a sports complex that will allow us to progress to a higher standard of football whilst providing excellent facilities which can be used by the local community.
Ripon finally got back to winning ways overcoming a very tough hardworking Hunslet team, who certainly made life difficult for the Mallorie Park side. The match itself was played in atrocious conditions and credit must go to the referee who did his best to ensure that the game was played in the correct manner by […]
Ripon City First Team has still to taste a victory in 2014. After a good end to 2013 confidence was high before the County Cup clash with arch rival Leeds City. Over the years Leeds City have proved to be a torn in Ripon’s side and today was to be no different. After a very […]
New Year and January promises to be a very busy month for both teams. At Mallorie Park the First Team play hosts to Leeds City in the County Cup 4th Round. This fixture is at the early kick off time of 1pm. This will be as tough a test as possible for Charlie’s side, however […]
After an abandonment against Otley Town and a postponed fixture against Brighouse Old Boy’s everyone hoped that it would be third time lucky and Ripon would at least get a fixture that both started and finished with some sort of outcome. Thankfully Jeff had worked wonders on the pitch and despite all of the rain […]
Not let up with the fixtures over the festive period. On Saturday Ripon face the long trip to Brighouse Old Boys for a 2pm kick off in the WYPL. The visit last year brought about a 1-1 draw and Charlie will be hoping to go one better this time and return with all three points. […]
The game on Saturday will be remembered more for the injury to Alistair ‘Oggy’ Hogg than anything else. In conditions better suited to kite flying than football both teams did their best in the very testing gale like conditions. Otley certainly looked a very different team to the one Ripon beat a few weeks ago. […]
In form Otley Town FC visit Mallorie Park on Saturday for the WYPL fixture. Last time the teams met Ripon came out on top in a 2-0 win over at Otley. Since then Otley have been on a good run of form so everyone at Ripon expects it to be a very tough game. Kick […]
Thankfully the gales that battered Ripon on Thursday has disappeared and the conditions were almost perfect for a County Cup tie between local rivals Boroughbridge. The last few meetings have seen Bridge edge things with victory in the Whitworth Cup Final followed by a win in the WYPL back in August. Ripon had thought that […]
A ‘double header’ of County Cup action in Ripon this weekend. Both teams have home draws and this means that the Reserves will not have to give up home advantage. Ripon City First Team take on local rivals Boroughbridge in what promises to be an excellent contest. Kick off for this one is 1.00pm and […]
After two disappointing results Ripon faced a tough test away at Whitkirk Wanderers in the WYPL. Ripon were able to welcome back Rob Mortimer, Ally Wilson, Kev Morris, Pa and Oggy was restored between the pots. A perfect day for football on a very good pitch set the game up nicely. Whitkirk have enjoyed an […]
