Welcome to Ripon City Football Club. Here you will be able to follow the progress of all things concerning Ripon City FC. We have been established since 1898 and we are a genuine grass roots community club.
Our first team play in the West Yorkshire Premier Division whilst our reserve team hone their skills in the West Yorkshire Alliance One Division. Our Sunday team play in Claro League Division One and, on the occasional Sunday afternoon, Ripon Veterans will grace the pitch before retiring to the clubhouse for drinks and chip butties!
We are a very friendly club run for the benefit of the community who enjoy football and all that goes with it.
However we are not without ambition and are currently seeking to relocate to much larger premises which we see us sell our present home at Mallorie Park. We hope to build a sports complex that will allow us to progress to a higher standard of football whilst providing excellent facilities which can be used by the local community.
The long trip to Horbury did not get off to the best start when we all thought we had ended up at the wrong venue. We looked at the field where we expected animals to be grazing only to be told that was the pitch!!!! Without question this has been the worst playing surface anyone […]
It might be Easter but there is still plenty of football to be played over the Bank Holiday period. The First Team make the long trip down the M1 to Horbury for a WYPL meeting. This promises to be a very tight game. The teams played out a 3-3 draw at Mallorie Park earlier in […]
A week is a long time in football. With five minutes to go Ripon looked to be heading for a hard fought victory over East End Park. The visitors were camped in their own half with Ripon looking to run the clock down. Fast forward five minutes and it was EEP who were smiling having […]
On a bright and sunny afternoon the only thing to spoil proceedings was the wind and it certainly played a part in this local derby. Ripon came into the game on the back of a hard earned win against Brighouse and with Wetherby fighting for every point this was again going to be a very […]
On Saturday night after the football has finished The Clubhouse plays host to local favourites Sugartown. Everyone who has seen them perform will conform that they are an excellent act and this should prove to be a really good evening’s entertainment. It would be nice to see a really good turnout for what promises to […]
Both teams are in action and both will be looking to pick up three points along the way. The First Team face a short trip down the A1 to Wetherby, where they come across an old advisory in Mark Foster. Mark has taken over affairs at Wetherby and will no doubt have his team playing […]
After a disappointing performance against Kippax followed by a better showing against Bardsey Ripon were hoping that it would be third time lucky in finding the three points that would keep them at the right end of the table. The opponents on a fine spring afternoon were the leagues form side Brighouse Old Boy’s, so […]
Despite still being at the foot of the table the Reserves have been finding some form and with all the games that they have in hand on their rival a move up the table should be just around the corner. Their plight was not helped by the league deducting them 3 points for a non-fulfilment […]
After a battling win against Hunslet Club the bad weather struck and Ripon had to sit out a few weeks while the storms subsided. When they did find themselves back in action it was if they had not played for a year let alone a few weeks as they suffered a 4-0 defeat away at […]
Ripon finally got back to winning ways overcoming a very tough hardworking Hunslet team, who certainly made life difficult for the Mallorie Park side. The match itself was played in atrocious conditions and credit must go to the referee who did his best to ensure that the game was played in the correct manner by […]
