Charity Cup Winners

The 28th April 2010, saw Ripon City pick up a piece of silverware in the 2009-2010 season, beating Boroughbridge 3-1 at Harrogate Railway FC in a Wednesday evening fixture.

After reaching the Whitworth Cup Final & the Semi-Final of the League Cup and coming away empty handed, Charlie Brown’s men picked up the Charity Cup to add to the honours board at Ripon City FC.

Well taken goals from Ian Pogson, Mark Marsden & Dan Clayton put Ripon in the driving seat, and allowed Captain Phil Waterworth to lift up the FA Cup replica infront of the Ripon City Football Club fans.

  1. The goalkeeper was fantastic and in my eyes saved the match.Brilliant game for him.

  2. I thought the game was very entertaining and good value for money. I was there supporting boroughbridge but felt that ripon thoroughly deserved it. The keeper was ok for ripon but he did make a fair few mistakes in the first half. Would still much prefer oggy. Well done ripon coming from a true blue.

  3. Although the goal keeper made a fanatastic save, I believe he suffered from cramp after the save. However good a save it was, I believe it is shocking that a keeper should suffer cramp, they do the least work on the pitch out of anyone.
