Double Derby wins for City

It was a good day for both the first and second team yesterday as both teams came from behind to clinch wins against local opposition in the Whitworth and Hulme Cup. Kyle Baldwin scored either side of half time for the firsts after Knaresborough had taken the lead after 20 minutes. After a scrappy first half City raised their game in the second half and showed the commitment and passion required to beat a lively Knaresborough Town. Rimmer made a couple of excellent saves in the City goal, Luke Robinson again looked lively coming off the bench with half an hour to go and hit the upright from a low twenty five yard power drive after turning well. Knaresborough however were unlucky not to equalise as their captain Stansfield blazed over the bar from close range with the last kick of the game. Baldwin was named man of the match.

The reserves came out four two winners against Ripon Red Arrow Reserves, going in at half time two one down Nick rallied his troops and they came out in the second half with a much improved performance. Goal scorers and man of the match will follow shortly.
