The best way to keep up to date with Ripon City AFC

Match Report - Ripon City v Garforth Rangers

1 year ago By Daniel Metcalfe

On the back of two fantastic league wins, Ripon went into this match in good form and started the game brightly.

Ripon had some great opportunities to score and had a very dominant spell just before half time. Two great chances fell to Haswell and Dalton but were denied by the woodwork and Garthforth keeper respectively.

Ripon continued to press for a breakthrough in the second half. The introduction of Liam Spence and Kai Tinsley injected attacking pace and width. Chances fell to Haswell, Fox and Hodgson but to no avail.

As the home side continued to push forward, with Marsden deployed in the front line, Garforth looked like they might nick a goal on the break. At it turned out, neither side could make the breakthrough and the match ended 0-0. The scoreline was frustrating for the home team but well deserved for the visitors who remained resolute for 90 minutes.

Next week Ripon host Horsforth in the League Cup, kick off 2pm.

Brooke, Baldwin, Clarke, Mason, Masden, Hutchinson, Fox, Hodgson, Wise, Dalton, Haswell.

Subs: Wox, Spence, Tinsley

Attendance: 83
