New teams announced for the 2019/20 season

By Gary Camplejohn

Following our continued growth Ripon City AFC is proud to announce that we will be creating two new teams for the 2019-2020 season.

Mallorie Park will now see U18's and U21's male teams play with the main aim of transitioning players from junior to senior football.

The teams are subject to league approval but we don't anticipate any issues.

The U18's will play in the Harrogate and District Sunday league with fixtures played on Sunday mornings with home games played at Mallorie Park.

meanwhile the U21's will play in the West Yorkshire Floodlit league which plays matches mid-week at central locations.

Gary Camplejohn the Clubs treasurer said ''This is fantastic news for this amazing Club. Having taken over the reigns 3 years ago youth development squads have always been a high priority for us. We recognise that the amount of players transitioning from junior to adult football is low and often we see comments that there isn't anything for the youngsters to do. It's great that we know have this opportunity to offer a structured development plan that will offer our young adults the opportunity to play more sport and it will only strengthen our Club and community as we look to the future. If anyone would like to sponsor our new teams please get in touch.''

Players old and new are encouraged to attend our open training sessions. Watch this space for dates and times.
